On 15 August 2022, India celebrates its 75th Independence Day. On this day, the country remembers the journey of the Indian freedom struggle; celebrates the end of the British colonial rule in the country; and honours the freedom fighters and their sacrifices that have given us the freedom that we know and enjoy today. Independence Day in India is celebrated with flag hoisting ceremonies, drills, and the singing of the national anthem in all schools, offices, states, residential colonies and so on, across the country. The Prime Minister participates in the Independence Day parade and flag raising ceremony at the historic monument, Red Fort. Chief Ministers of every state in India also take part in a similar event in their respective state capital cities. Indian Embassies across the world and all the expatriate communities also mark this event, wherever they are. As part of our 75 th Independence Day celebrations, Resorcio and Mathrubhoomi are here with a competition for students to test their awareness about the Indian freedom struggle, the Indian constitution and society. Participants who are the fastest to answer all the questions accurately will receive a grand prize. Here is a selection of some resources that will take you through the Indian freedom movement, and also throw light on some aspects of current-day free India.
